  • "Candice is a powerhouse. She is a strategic thinker and decisive leader.

“We worked on a number of projects together and I always found her input valuable as she helped us stay on objective while thoughtfully stress-testing our assumptions, sharing fresh ideas, and asking insightful questions. She's also a gifted writer and strong communicator. Any organization would benefit from her leadership and collaborative spirit.”

  • "Candice helped us with consultancy and pre-production for an important and sensitive topic.

“Without her, it would have been difficult to navigate the project and tell the story effectively. She is patient, highly skilled, and very understanding as well to our team who is also new to production. Her experience and skills helped us push the campaign into a meaningful one.

  • "When it was time to write the story of IdeaSpace, which was actually a story of many, many stories of people whose lives changed because of the organization, I had Candice in mind.

“She worked very well with my team mates who were assigned to the project. She painstakingly interviewed everyone who we wanted to feature. She was patient with the never ending changes and we were very happy with the final outcome. Authentic, someone who loves to write stories of impact—whenever the job calls for this, I only have one person in mind.”

  • Young Filipino Americans are grappling with what it means to be bicultural and live and thrive in multiple worlds with multiple identities. From Middle America to Hawaii to Alaska, we need to reflect who Filipinos are today and how they are working to better themselves and the communities around them. As we explore the intersectionality of Filipino identities taking shape as migrants and new citizens in the USA, can we go beyond identity politics that leads to cultural disconnection, community divides, and social isolation?

Addresses a Problem

  • How can marginalized communities see themselves in the census? How can they understand that being counted means a better future with more resources and more political power? From the LGBTQ community to undocumented Latinx immigrants, marginalized communities have been undercounted in the U.S. census throughout history. The absence of in-person community events because of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as political and social divides across America, added to the difficulty.

  • Pneumonia is the leading cause of childhood deaths for the Philippines and many developing nations. Unfortunately, pneumonia vaccination remains unaffordable for many Filipino families. How might we empower the Filipino diaspora to pressure pharmaceutical companies, Pfizer and GSK, to drop the price of pneumonia vaccination — when the realties of the homeland are too distant and abstract? After a petition campaign, the need remained to continue to put the pressure to make the pneumonia vaccination.

  • The 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion marks a significant date in LGBT history — but it also reminds us of the work that still needs to be done.
